Loopy doll

Description

this was made for someone on etsy. The Character is Loopy, off life with Loopy, which is a stop motion children's show.

The head is made of MDF (a type of artificial wood- good for stuff like this, as it doesn't splinter) that was cut out with a scoll saw, gesso'd to give it an interesting texture, painted, then varnished.

the hands are sculpy, that was cut out, posed, baked, then carved to get the proper shape. I had intended to do the hands in fabric, but I couldn't find high stretch material in the right colour, and it's next to impossible to turn little tiny hands in anything else. The doll is maybe 10 or 11 inches high (don't quote me on that, my imperial measurements are rusty...)

I hate trying to sculpt in sculpy, it gets squishier as you work it, not harder, the opposite of clay. Hence the carving. :D

The rest is fabric and bits and peices, with a wire armature in the middle to strengthen it.
