Description

Another sackboy, just in time for the delayed launch (or at least the australian one, if you got the catalogues that say it was meant to be the 23rd, and are willing to kick up a fuss, heh) I can't knit to save myself, yo. Which is to say, I can knit...but would drop dead with boredom before I finished anything.

So he's made of hessian, which I felt also suited the character. It has an underlayer of cotton fabric because the hessian frays a little (note the arm >_<), so it would have been hard to keep seams intact otherwise. The big sloppy stitches aren't functional, I aded them later for visual effect :)
I wish my knitting machine wasn't broken, or I could fake the knitted look by using rectangles of knitting instead of the hessian...

I'm a sucker for functional zippers, so in the front the inner layer (since hessian is a real pain to work with by itself) is separate from the outer, so you can have a look at his innards.I didn't think to photograph it before i gave this plush away, though. I'm going to update with a better photo as soon as I find my camera's cable- this is taken with a mobile phone, ick.

[link] you can buy the pattern here for $3

Selling plushies made off this pattern (like for market stalls or whatever, so long as you don't claim to have made the pattern) is fine by me, but do not re-sell or give away the pattern- I only want 2.50 for it (the other 50 cents is sellers fees and stuff) :)

You'll get a ready to print pattern in pdf form and the instructions by email. How much fabric you'll need depends on type and how big you print the pattern. For anything too stretchy or hard to work with (ie prone to fraying or other such), you'll need to make it with a lining of normal material. If you like, you can use only a partial lining in the front part of the body, so you can have the zip openable without the stuffing coming out. Otherwise, the zip would make a great stuffing hole, if you just whacked a couple stitches in so it isn't accidentally opened. Or maybe use it as a little bag :)
This is a very easy pattern (though the mouth is a tiny bit fiddly), and wouldn't take very long, particularly if made in an agreeable fabric such as felt. a 10cm zipper should be sufficient for either of the sizes on the pdf, if you print it bigger, you'll need a longer one.
